Faster purchases with saved data
To make the payment journey faster and more convenient, Cielo's Checkout and Link de Pagamento now feature a new functionality that allows shopper data to be saved after the first purchase.
This feature securely stores information such as name, CPF, email, address, and credit card (when this payment method is chosen), allowing the shopper to avoid having to re-enter their data for future purchases.
This feature is available only for credit card and multi-benefit card payments.
Benefits
For the shopper:
- Faster and more convenient shopping experience;
- Less friction in the payment process.
For the merchant:
- Higher sales conversion;
- Feature activated automatically, no additional configuration required.
How it works
First purchase
- The shopper enters personal and payment information and can choose to save this data for future purchases;
- Authentication is performed via a code sent to the email previously provided.
If the shopper chooses not to save the data, they can proceed as a guest.
For more details, visit: First purchase.
Subsequent purchases with saved data
- The shopper identifies themselves using email or phone number;
- A new code is sent for authentication;
- After validation, the saved data and cards are displayed.
Important
Personal data is saved only when the purchase is completed;
If the user only performs the authentication step (OTP – One-Time Password) and does not complete the purchase, we only save the email;
Payment data is saved only when the credit card or multi-benefit card option is used.
For more details, visit: Subsequent purchases with saved data.
What data is stored
- Personal data: CPF, name, phone number, email, delivery and billing address;
- Payment data: only credit cards and multi-benefit cards, when used in the previous purchase.
Warning
- If the store uses the 3DS authentication protocol in the Payment Link or Checkout, the journey with saved data will not be available. In this case, the payment will follow the traditional flow, without the option to use saved data;
- If the store fills in the shopper's data and delivery address when creating the Checkout page, the journey with saved data will not be used. The data provided by the store will take precedence over the previously saved data.
