Enabling Pix on the Cielo portal

To use Pix, your registration must be enabled with the Pix payment method.

To request Pix activation, select Pix in the top menu > Pix Cielo. Click on Solicitar habilitação:

A confirmation window will then open. To proceed with the request, agree to the Termos de autorização and click Solicitar.

To confirm your authorization, access the Cielo portal and click on Meu Cadastro > Autorizações > Pix.

Important

• Pix transactions have a code called end_to_end_id (E2EID), which is a unique identifier for each transaction in the Pix payment system. This code is automatically generated by the Central Bank of Brazil (BCB) and is usually present on the bank's payment receipt;
• In the Checkout and Link de Pagamento, this code is present on the Cielo portal within the order details (with the name "Transaction ID") and in the status change notifications via API (it has nomenclatures, as seen in the notifications' table of contents).

Pix Cielo account management

All Pix payments are linked to a bank account. By enabling Pix Cielo, we create a Pix Cielo account for the merchant, which is presented on the website and app as Cielo S.A. Instituição Financeira. This is an intermediary account for Pix sales, from which the merchant can transfer the balance to the registered bank account.

There are two transfer options from the Pix Cielo account:

• Gestão Simplificada (automatic transfer per sale): sales values are automatically transferred to the registered bank account, sale by sale. Additionally, it is possible to access the Pix statement and operation information through the Cielo website or Cielo Gestão app;

*Automatic transfer may take a few minutes after the sale is completed.

• Gestão de Livre Movimentação (manual transfer): the merchant has access to all Pix functions through the Cielo Gestão App and the balance can be used for transfers and payments via Pix. In this option, the balance of Pix sales is not automatically transferred by Cielo - the merchant needs to access the account and make the transfer to the registered bank account.

Refunding a Pix sale requires balance in the Pix Cielo account

For the refund operation, the merchant must have a balance in the Pix Cielo account. If the mercant refunds Pix sale values, we recommend setting up manual transfer option.

Important

• Upon enabling Pix Cielo, the automatic transfer per sale option (Gestão Simplificada) is automatically activated. If desired, you can change this option at any time;
• If the merchant chooses manual transfer (Gestão de Livre Movimentação), automatic transfer will be deactivated.
