Pix account management at Cielo

Pix is the instant payment system created by the Banco Central do Brasil, enabling transfers and payments 24/7.

Pix is a way to sell instantly, securely, and simply through Cielo’s payment capture solutions.

How does Pix payout work at Cielo?

With Pix at Cielo, every merchant is provided with a free payment account and can choose how to receive sales, selecting either automatic transfer of funds or Cielo account.

Additionally, you can access your Pix statement and transaction details via the Cielo website or the Cielo Gestão app.

Important:

  • When Pix is enabled at Cielo, the per-sale transfer option is activated by default. You may change this option at any time;
  • If you choose scheduled transfer or Cielo account, the automatic per-sale transfer will be disabled.
Automatic transfer per sale

Funds are transferred to your account for each Pix sale.

Scheduled automatic transfer

Pix sales amounts are transferred up to four times per day.

Cielo account

Keep your Pix sales funds in your Cielo account and transfer them whenever you want.


Automatic transfer per sale

Cielo automatically and instantly transfers funds via Pix, transaction by transaction, from the Pix payment account to the bank account selected by the merchant.

⚠️

Warning:

With per-sale transfer, the balance in the Cielo account is temporary. Therefore, refunds cannot be processed successfully and the response will be insufficient merchant balance.

Scheduled automatic transfer

Pix sales at Cielo are accumulated in the Cielo account and settled automatically via Pix to the preferred bank account, up to four times daily at predefined times: 06 am, 12 pm, 5:30 pm, and 10 pm (UTC -3).

  • The 06 am and 12 pm daily settlement times are optional;
  • The 5:30 pm and 10 pm settlement times are standard and cannot be changed;
  • You may request an immediate balance transfer before the scheduled time. Immediate balance transfer does not include receipts via Pix key, bank account, or charge generation via the Cielo Gestão app, if available.

Scheduled transfer allows refund operations, provided there is sufficient balance in the Cielo account.


Cielo account

Your sales are transferred to the Cielo account, and you have access to all Pix account features through the Cielo Gestão app. The balance from your Pix sales can be used for transfers and payments via Pix. In this option, the sales balance is not automatically transferred to a bank account defined by the merchant.

  • The transaction amount remains in the Cielo account;
  • To manage the balance, access the Cielo Gestão app;
  • In the Cielo Gestão app, you can transfer the balance to other accounts via Pix transactions or make payments using the available balance.
ℹ️
  • When choosing Cielo Account Management, the automatic transfer feature will be disabled;
  • In the Cielo account mode, refund operations are allowed if there is sufficient balance in the Cielo account.

How to change the account type

On the Cielo website, go to Pix > Access Pix Settings > Receipts and select the desired account type. On this screen, you can also request an immediate balance transfer if the type is scheduled transfer.
